Job summary

Care New England Health System is seeking a Clinical Social Worker to provide social work services to patients and their families, addressing psychosocial factors affecting health and recovery. You will work within an interdisciplinary team, conduct assessments, provide brief interventions, and coordinate care with external resources.

You will develop community referrals and contribute to department policies and procedures, supporting the organization’s mission and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work or related field.
• Experience in healthcare setting preferred.
• RI Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC); LICSW preferred; LICSW must be obtained within 3 years from hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide social work services within an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
• Perform assessment, brief interventions, and coordinate services for patients and families.
• Develop and maintain a network of community referral sources.
• Assist in development and implementation of department policies, programs, and procedures.

Job description

The Clinical Social Worker provides social work services to the hospital’s patients and their families to address psychosocial and environmental factors which impact their healthy functioning and/or recovery. Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary health care team providing direct clinical services including assessment, brief intervention, and coordination of services. Develops a network of community agencies to facilitate referrals. The Clinical Social Worker assists in the development and implementation of department policies, programs, and procedures.

Qualifications and Specifications

• Master's Degree Required
• Field of Study: Social Work or related
• Experience in a healthcare setting or hospital strongly preferred
• RI Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)
• RI Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker strongly preferred
• LCSWs must obtain LICSW within a period of 3 years from date of hire
