Job description

Make a Real Difference in People's Lives

This is more than a caseload; it's the chance to be the clinical backbone for people rebuilding their lives after traumatic brain injury or living with developmental and psychiatric disabilities. You'll lead assessments, build care plans, and guide the teams who carry them out every day, with the autonomy to lead clinically and the backing of an organization that has been changing lives for over 50 years.

If you're a licensed social work professional who wants your clinical expertise to translate into real, tangible improvement in someone's life, we'd love to talk to you.

What You'll Do

Day to day, this looks like:

Getting to Know Your Clients

  • Build (and keep evolving) Client Service Plans and behavioral support plans that direct care staff implement
Leading & Mentoring the Team
  • Coach and support Program Coordinators, Home Managers, and direct care staff so they feel confident carrying out each plan
  • Help build a team culture that's collaborative, inclusive, and genuinely high performing
Keeping Care on Track
  • Make sure services meet CARF accreditation, LARA licensing, and organizational standards — the guardrails that keep care safe and consistent
  • Flag concerns early, help drive corrective action, and shape policy so problems don't repeat
Connecting the Dots
  • Bring people together through interdisciplinary meetings and care conferences
  • Be the steady link between residents, families, staff, and outside partners like CMH supports coordinators, case managers, guardians, and treatment providers
  • Keep leadership in the loop on how programs are performing, and make sure residents' needs and voices are heard in every decision
Being There When It Matters Most
  • Answer the call when a crisis hits, assessing risk and putting safety plans into action
  • Coordinate with law enforcement or EMS when a situation calls for it
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in social work, with active Michigan licensure (LMSW, LCSW, LPC, or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, including previous experience working with clients with behavioral issues

  • Valid driver's license with acceptable MVR
