Job summary

Children's Hospital Colorado in Aurora is seeking a Clinical Social Work Supervisor to lead a team of social work professionals. You will coach, mentor and model best practices, schedule workload and PTO, and ensure high-quality patient care through effective supervision.

Qualifications

  • Five (5) years of experience providing psycho-social assessment and interventions to patients and families, including three (3) years as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
  • Master's degree in Social Work.
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license in Colorado (CO).

The Clinical Social Work Supervisor provides supervision to a team of clinical support. The supervisor is responsible for coaching, mentoring, modeling best practices, scheduling, managing Paid Time Off (PTO) and day-to-day performance for direct reports. The position provides oversight of patient care and is responsible for ensuring appropriate care is provided by clinical social work team members.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Mentors and supports staff on a daily basis, while creating a culture and atmosphere that will lead to a high level of employee engagement.
  • Assists with selecting, training, developing and evaluating social work team members. Collaborates on decisions regarding hiring, terminations, disciplinary action and promotions, as required. Identifies resource needs and develops recommendations for meeting needs.
  • Provides clinical supervision per best practice and licensure requirements to team members as assigned.
  • Supervises daily department operational functioning including scheduling, workload distribution, crisis management, payroll, resource allocation and utilization.
  • Acts as a working supervisor to assist with patient and family interactions and facilitating care plans; remains available to provide coverage as needed.
  • Assists with the implementation and maintenance of department specific policies, procedures, and guidelines while ensuring consistency with evidence-based practice and organizational policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Resolves operational and patient/family issues, making decisions that are inclusive of multiple perspectives and solves underlying problems.
  • Assists team members in achieving unit outcomes, performance and professional development standards; identifies opportunities for continual improvement.
  • Provides clinical back up on a rotating basis with other CSW leadership positions.
SCOPE AND LEVEL

Guidelines: Guidelines are in the form of stated objectives for the section, unit, function, or project. Is normally the first level of full supervision in a classification series. Performs most elements of supervision over 50% of the time. May also perform the work of front line staff as needed.

Complexity: Work assignment is generally unstructured and employee is responsible for assigning and supervising a variety of functions to achieve the objectives of the section, unit, or project. Duties performed involve weighing and evaluating factors requiring judgment, analytical ability, and problem solving.

Decision Making: Employee is responsible for simultaneous coordination and supervision of several functions, programs, or projects in various stages of completion. Primary responsibility for arranging and directing the work of two or more employees.

Communications: Contacts are of a non-prescribed nature involving the negotiation and resolution of problems and where exceptional degrees of discretion, judgment, and specialized knowledge are required in carrying out the programs and policies of an organization.

Supervision Received: Under managerial direction, the employee has personal accountability for carrying out the work objectives of an organizational unit or section within the scope of established guidelines and the mission of the organization or department. Employee is expected to resolve problems that arise in the normal course of the work. Work may be discussed with higher level supervisors and reviewed for soundness of judgment and feasibility of decisions.

  • Monday 10am-8pm
  • Tuesday 11:30am-9:30pm

  • Must have ability to flex days/hours to meet the needs of afterhours team members. Leader on-call for 1 week approximately 2x per quarter
Salary Information

Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.

Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $90,900.58 to $136,350.88
