Clinical Skills Simulation Specialist (Paramedic, RN, RT, or similar)

At Des Moines University Medicine and Health Sciences (DMU), we’re transforming healthcare education through innovation, collaboration, and hands-on learning. As a Clinical Skills Simulation Specialist, you'll support immersive simulation experiences that prepare future health leaders.

What You’ll Do
  1. Deliver high-fidelity simulation encounters, acting as the voice of the patient, and operate all aspects of the lab during these encounters.
  2. Ensure safety precautions are followed during all sessions.
  3. Assist the Clinical Skills Coordinator with managing and coordinating surgical skills teaching assistants.
  4. Coordinate the Simulation Lab calendar.
  5. Maintain records of event management data per accreditation standards.
  6. Support the integration of medical simulation methodologies into DMU’s curriculum, including training, skill development, and assessment.
  7. Participate in continuing education to assess and expand uses of simulation methodology.
What We Are Looking For
  • Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s or Master’s preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of healthcare clinical, education, or simulation experience.
  • RN, BSN, or other advanced degree (PA, DO, MD, etc.) required.
  • At least 5 years of clinical experience, with critical care experience (ICU, ER) preferred.
  • Medical simulation experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience in course development and educational methodologies preferred.
  • Basic to intermediate PC skills.
