Job summary

Kansas City University is seeking Simulation Embedded Participants for the Joplin campus to populate simulation scenarios with scripted non-patient roles. This PRN, as-needed position supports the Master of Health Science in Anesthesiologist Assistant program and requires following scenario scripts and coordinating with facilitators.

Two tiers exist: Tier 1 for non-clinical roles and Tier 2 for licensed healthcare professionals. Shifts typically Tue-Thu 8am-5pm; pay is hourly with no benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Tier 2 licensure/credentialing required for clinical roles.
• Tier 2 requires minimum one year of active clinical practice.
• Must follow scripted directions and portray roles consistently.

Responsibilities

• Portray assigned roles accurately and consistently.
• Deliver scripted verbal cues to advance scenarios.
• Respond to learner interactions within role boundaries.
• Maintain the fiction contract and stay in role during scenarios.
• Complete required pre-session orientation and scenario prep.
• Participate in pre-scenario briefings and post-scenario handoffs as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality of scenario content and learning objectives.
• Communicate availability and respond to scheduling inquiries on time.
• Conduct interactions professionally within the simulation environment.
