Job summary

The University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing is seeking part-time Clinical Simulation Instructors to support undergraduate simulation sessions and provide targeted learner feedback.

Qualified candidates will hold an MSN and a PA RN license. BSN-prepared nurses enrolled in an MSN program are eligible if MSN is completed within 5 years. Teaching spans Health Assessment through Leadership Nursing within the School of Nursing.

Qualifications

• Must have MSN from an accredited institution and a current PA RN license.
• MSN completion within 5 years if enrolled in MSN program.
• Experience teaching undergraduate clinical courses preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates formative and summative simulation sessions at the undergraduate level.
• Provides feedback on pre-simulation assignments to prepare learners.
• Fosters clinical judgement by using reflective debriefing questions.
• Maintains a safe learning environment for optimal student engagement.
• Teaches undergraduate clinical courses across Health Assessment, Medical-Surgical, Pediatric, Obstetrical, Community, Psychiatric Mental Health, and Leadership Nursing.

Facilitates formative and summative simulation sessions at the undergraduate level.

Provides feedback on pre-simulation assignments to prepare the learner for an active and engaging educational experience.

Fosters clinical judgement by posing reflective questions during debriefing.

Provides a safe learning environment to ensure an optimal learning experience.

Courses: All undergraduate clinical courses (Health Assessment, Medical-Surgical, Pediatric, Obstetrical, Community, Psychiatric Mental Health, and Leadership Nursing).

The candidate will teach in the Department of Biobehavioral Health Sciences or Department of Family and Community Health in the School of Nursing.

Qualifications Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited institution and a current PA RN license required.
