Responsible for the overall operational flow of the inpatient unit, including coordination, collaboration, and direction of the entire unit during the shift to ensure effective healthcare delivery. Acts as a staff resource to facilitate critical thinking and clinical decision-making.
Bachelor's degree in Nursing required. As of 12/1/11, all new hires must have a BSN or a Master's degree in Nursing. Must hold a current and valid State of New Jersey nursing license or legal permission to work from the New Jersey Board of Nursing.
Progressive supervisory experience such as relief charge nurse. Knowledge of medical terminology, computer, and keyboard skills required.
Current and valid New Jersey Registered Nursing license. Ability to adapt to changing work environments based on patient needs, including working with patients with acute, chronic, and complex diseases, as well as end-of-life care. Excellent communication skills (oral, written, presentation) to effectively interact with patients, families, physicians, visitors, and colleagues in stressful and emotionally charged situations. Demonstrated clinical competence, sound judgment, and ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team. Strong time management skills, quick response to emergency situations, and effective analytical and critical thinking abilities. Attention to detail and capacity to perform accurately across multiple tasks without loss of efficiency or composure.
