Job summary

Cayuga Health System in Ithaca, NY is seeking a per diem House Supervisor to oversee care across clinical areas during assigned shifts. You will mentor staff, collaborate with Nurse Managers and physicians, and ensure high-quality nursing care while managing resources and safety.

NY RN license required with Baccalaureate degree; leadership experience and BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications are preferred. This role is onsite with per diem scheduling and competitive compensation.

Responsibilities

• Accomplish HR objectives by assisting with selecting, orienting, educating, assigning, scheduling, coaching staff; communicating job expectations, adhere to policies and procedures.
• Ensure continual delivery of high quality nursing care in collaboration with nursing managers and other directors; enforce adherence to state board requirements; measure health outcomes against standards.
• Meet nursing operational standards by contributing information to strategic plans and reviews; implement production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolve problems; identify system improvements.
• Liaise with patients, family members, and healthcare professionals to ensure quality care; conduct patient/family rounding and address complaints.
• Respond to emergencies and advise as necessary; assist as needed.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary staff; foster interactive leadership and professional relationships.
• Lead and collaborate with staff through difficult decisions and resource allocation.
• This is a per diem flex role.
