Position Summary
The Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurse Clinician (WOC NC) provides leadership in the care of patients with stomas, draining wounds, or incontinence, throughout the organization. This includes utilizing clinical expertise to provide preoperative and postoperative care, counseling, and teaching to patients aged 0-99 years in need of wound, ostomy, and/or continence management. S/he has primary responsibility for educating nurses to ensure knowledge and competency in basic wound, ostomy, and continence management; and works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team in a variety of specialties in planning and coordinating care. The WOCN Nurse Clinician is an integral part of multiple teams, serving as a clinician, educator, consultant, and leader.
Work Schedule
Full-time, 40 hours per week.
$7,500 commitment bonus offered, eligibility rules apply.
General Description of the Job Class
Independently plan and provide professional nursing care for patients in accordance with physician orders and established policies and procedures. Provide nursing services to patients and families within the scope of the RN as defined by the North Carolina Board of Nursing. Nurses hired into this limited benefits classification will commit to work a minimum number of hours in a designated inpatient nursing department. Compensation is a flat rate.

Required Qualifications at this Level
Education
Graduation from an accredited Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program. Nurses with an Associate's Degree will be required to enroll in an accredited BSN program within 2 years of hire and complete it within 5 years.
Experience
Minimum of 2 years of appropriate clinical experience required.
