Job summary

Rushford Portland Facility, part of Hartford HealthCare, seeks an allied professional to support clinicians in delivering coordinated services and case management for adults with mental health and/or substance use disorders.

As an Essential Employee, you will facilitate groups, assist with intake and safety checks, document progress, coordinate referrals, and support treatment plans under licensed clinicians’ supervision.

Qualifications

  • Associates in Drug and Alcohol Recovery Counseling (DARC), Human Services, or related field.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field is preferred
  • Two (2) years of experience in a behavioral health or substance abuse setting is preferred
  • Knowledge of Alcoholics (or Narcotics) Anonymous 12-Step Program is preferred
  • Valid driver's license
  • Valid CPR, Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) & First Aid training certifications are preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct client care under the supervision of licensed clinicians by facilitating therapeutic and psychoeducational groups, delivering basic counseling, implementing behavioral management plans, and supporting treatment goals.
  • Conduct safety checks, client intakes, searches, and monitoring activities to maintain a safe therapeutic environment. Assist with medication management, including medication self-administration monitoring, documentation, medication counts, vital signs collection, and coordination with nursing and medical staff.
  • Observe and document client progress, communicate treatment outcomes to the interdisciplinary team, contribute to treatment plan revisions, and support ongoing interventions.
  • Coordinate case management activities, including referrals to community resources, discharge planning, transportation arrangements, and linkage to social, health, employment, and support services.
  • Participate in treatment conferences, staff meetings, training programs, and collaborative community partnerships to ensure high-quality client care and continuity of services. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Summary
