• Valid driver's license and ability to drive.

Join to apply for the Clinical Scribe role at Midwest Vision Partners.

As an Ophthalmic Scribe, you will work alongside physicians, dictating into patient charts and assisting with minor in-office procedures.

Schedule

Mon - Fri 7:40a-5p

What you will be doing

1. Bring patients to and from exam rooms
2. Perform detailed documentation of patient workups and comments in electronic medical records
3. Complete patient encounter forms based on diagnoses
4. Apply drops to anesthetize, dilate, or medicate eyes
5. Provide chair-side assistance and administer treatments as ordered by physicians
6. Review care instructions with patients
7. Complete detailed patient histories
8. Check visual acuity and examine eyes for abnormalities
9. Perform tests and measurements including A-scans, B-scans, fundus photography, and others
10. Measure intraocular pressure (glaucoma test)
11. Read eyeglass prescriptions with automated lensometry
12. Prepare exam rooms for treatment
13. Maintain patient confidentiality following HIPAA regulations
14. Demonstrate knowledge of eye anatomy, diseases, symptoms, and medications
15. Stay current with technologies and medications and answer patient questions

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver's license and ability to drive
• Efficient computer skills and typing 40+ words per minute

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as a Medical Scribe
• EMR experience
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Entry level (0-3 years experience)
