Job summary

Northeastern University, in collaboration with Vertex, offers a two-year Clinical Scientist fellowship based in Boston. The role supports clinical development programs, trial design, execution, and data interpretation, interfacing with Medical Lead and external collaborators.

You will learn drug development processes, contribute to study documentation, and interact across Global Medicines Development & Affairs to broaden clinical knowledge and impact.

Qualifications

• PharmD from ACPE-accredited institution.
• Eligible for MA pharmacist licensure.
• Strong communication, leadership and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work independently in a complex, matrix environment.

Responsibilities

• Act as clinical interface with the Medical Lead to support clinical development programs and trials.
• Provide medical monitoring reports, safety reviews, site interactions, and analysis of tables, figures, and listings.
• Analyze protocol conduct and subject safety; communicate clear overviews of trial results.
• Support Data Monitoring Committees including charter development and data reviews.
• Contribute to protocols, study reports, IBs, ICFs, manuals, and training documents.
• Lead interactions with internal and external stakeholders (sites, vendors, committees) to support trial objectives.
• Organize investigator and advisory board meetings with project teams and external vendors.
• Prepare and present scientific material for conferences or publications.
• Learn other GMDA functions through rotations and cross-functional exposure.
