Job summary

Intellectt Inc. is seeking a Clinical Scientist II (Contract) to join our client’s onsite laboratory in Santa Rosa, CA.

The role focuses on performing clinical laboratory testing, reviewing results for accuracy, and ensuring compliance with CLIA and California regulations. The ideal candidate holds a California CLS license, a Bachelor's degree in Science, and 2+ years of toxicology lab experience (or 5+ years in general clinical labs with toxicology exposure).

Qualifications

• Active California CLS license required.
• Bachelor's degree in Science required.
• 2+ years of toxicology lab experience with MS preferred, or 5+ years in general clinical labs with toxicology exposure.
• Experience with pipetting, computer systems and ability to learn LIMS.
• LC/MS/MS and/or GC/MS experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical laboratory testing following procedures, CLIA, and CA regulations.
• Review and certify results for accuracy, validity, and compliance before release.
• Review QC results, monitor trends, and initiate corrective actions.
• Investigate inconsistent results and quality incidents.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment and document testing activities.
• Assist with SOPs, investigations, and QA activities.
• Provide training and supervision to laboratory personnel.
• Follow safety procedures for hazardous materials and report incidents.

Location: Santa Rosa, CA

Job Description:

• Perform clinical laboratory testing in accordance with standard procedures, CLIA requirements, and California regulations.
• Review and certify laboratory results for accuracy, validity, and compliance before release.
• Review calibration and QC results, monitor trends, and initiate appropriate corrective actions.
• Investigate inconsistent laboratory results, specimen handling issues, and quality incidents.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, clean, and calibrate analytical laboratory equipment.
• Maintain accurate documentation for QC, calibration, equipment maintenance, specimen handling, and testing.
• Assist with SOP and protocol development, laboratory investigations, and Quality Assurance activities.
• Provide training, supervision, and competency support to laboratory personnel.
• Follow laboratory safety procedures when handling hazardous materials and promptly report incidents or spills.
• Support continuing education and maintain professional knowledge required for California CLS licensing.

Basic Qualifications:

• Active California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license required.
• Bachelor's degree in Science required.
• 2+ years of toxicology laboratory experience with mass spectrometry preferred, or 5+ years of general clinical laboratory experience with toxicology knowledge.
• Experience with pipetting, computer systems, and ability to learn LIMS.
• LC/MS/MS and/or GC/MS experience preferred.
