Job description

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of Ipsen’s growing Rare Disease Franchise, where we have recently launched two treatments for Rare Cholestatic Liver Disease within two years to meet high unmet needs.

In this role, you will join a new pediatric sales team to establish and grow Ipsen’s presence in Pediatric Hepatology and Gastroenterology, aiming to become the leader in Rare Cholestatic Liver Disease.

This field-based position as a Rare Disease Clinical Science Specialist – Cholestatic Liver (Pediatrics) involves:

  • Achieving or exceeding regional and territory performance targets and contributing to the overall performance of regional and national sales teams.
  • Developing long-term, sustainable accounts to generate initial use of Ipsen’s products and increase sales over time.
  • Providing accurate, complete, and balanced presentations of Ipsen’s products and services to customers.

All employees, including Clinical Science Specialists, are fully accountable for compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies governing Ipsen’s activities.

Main Responsibilities / Job Expectations
  • Achieve or exceed objectives related to assigned brands, including sales, market share, and other KPIs.
  • Navigate complex multi-stakeholder organizations such as hospitals and healthcare communities professionally.
  • Manage the assigned geography and customer accounts efficiently, prioritizing key physicians and resources.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with customers, focusing on patient interests and Ipsen policies.
  • Engage in in-depth, resource-based discussions with healthcare professionals, aligned with approved messages and labels.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address customer needs promptly and effectively.
  • Analyze market and customer data to support strategic planning.
Knowledge, Abilities & Experience
  • BA/BS required; advanced degrees like MBA, MSc, Nursing are a plus.
  • At least 8 years in life sciences, including 5 in rare or specialty areas, and 3 in specialty biopharma sales.
  • Proven success in meeting or exceeding targets.
  • Understanding of payer and clinical landscapes, especially in specialty & rare diseases.
  • Patient-centric approach demonstrated through empathy and support.
  • Strong presentation, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal administrative support.
  • Experience in Rare Disease, Hepatology, or Gastroenterology is highly preferred.
  • Ability to navigate complex pediatric hospital environments.
  • Residence within the defined territory is required.

The annual base salary range for this position is $120,000 - $190,000, with eligibility for short-term incentives. Ipsen offers a comprehensive benefits package, including 401(k), medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, parental leave, paid time off, and more.

The listed pay range reflects Ipsen’s current compensation expectations; actual pay depends on experience, education, and skills.
