Job summary

Texas Oncology is seeking a Clinical RN Supervisor to join our Plano-based team. This full-time role supports the Plano Consolidation with hours 8:00am–5:00pm, Monday through Friday, and no weekends or major holidays.

You will coordinate nursing functions, supervise staff, and ensure patient care aligns with national standards and our compliance program. The ideal candidate holds a BSN or MSN, is licensed as a registered nurse, has 5+ years RN experience (3+ in oncology), and offers leadership

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (BSN/ MSN preferred).
  • RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing.
  • Minimum 5 years actively practicing as an RN, including at least 3 years in oncology.
  • 1 year of leadership experience preferred.
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • Current or pending oncology certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees nursing operations and patient care within budgetary constraints.
  • Ensures adequate staffing/FTEs for assigned clinics.
  • Maintains nursing staff coverage and controls operating costs within budget.
  • Ensures clinical operations align with organizational objectives.
  • Monitors patient satisfaction and quality assurance measures.
  • Coordinates staff training and internal development programs.
  • Supports annual performance evaluations for nursing staff.
  • Acts as mentor/preceptor for less experienced nurses.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What does the Nurse Supervisor do?

Coordinates all activities related to nursing functions and patient care, within budgetary constraints. Adheres to national and company standards and guidelines for specialty regulations. Supervises nursing staff that provides professional nursing care to patients. Must recognize physical, psychological, and spiritual aspects of care. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Clinical Oversight
  • Oversees the clinical operations for all nursing clinical support activities.
  • Ensure adequate staffing/FTEs for assigned clinics
  • Maintains effective nursing staff coverage and operating costs for the practice and/or satellites within budgetary parameters.
  • Ensure clinical operations and practice consistent with organizational objectives
  • Monitors and evaluates patient satisfaction and quality assurance measures.
  • Staff Development
  • Coordinates, implements, and assists with staff training, in-services, and internal developmental programs for nursing staff.
  • Assists with annual performance evaluations for nursing department staff.
  • Serves as mentor/preceptor and provides day to day guidance to less experienced nurses
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the Nurse Supervisor will have the following background and experience:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN or MSN preferred.
  • RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
  • Minimum 5 year actively practicing as a registered nurse., including at least 3 years in oncology.
  • 1 year of leadership experience preferred.
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • Current or pending oncology certification preferred.
