Job summary

Texas Oncology in Tyler, TX is seeking a Nurse Supervisor (RN) to lead nursing operations at the Tyler location. This is a full-time role with a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and no weekends, on-call, or major holidays.

Ideal candidates will have RN licensure in good standing, 5+ years of nursing with oncology experience, CPR certification, and leadership abilities. Oncology-specific certifications and chemotherapy provider credentials are preferred.

Qualifications

  • RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing.
  • Minimum 5 years actively practicing as a registered nurse, including at least 3 years in oncology.
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • 1 year of leadership experience preferred.
  • Current or pending oncology certification preferred.
  • Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy provider card preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the clinical operations for all nursing clinical support activities.
  • Ensures adequate staffing/FTEs for assigned clinics.
  • Ensures clinical operations align with organizational objectives.
  • Monitors and evaluates patient satisfaction and quality assurance measures.
  • Coordinates, implements, and assists with staff training and development.
  • Mentors and guides less experienced nurses and provides day-to-day supervision.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Texas Oncology is looking for a Nurse Supervisor (RN) to join our team! This position will support the Tyler location . This is a full-time Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm position with no weekends, call, or major holidays.

What does the Nurse Supervisor do?

Coordinates all activities related to nursing functions and patient care, within budgetary constraints. Adheres to national and company standards and guidelines for specialty regulations. Supervises nursing staff that provides professional nursing care to patients. Must recognize physical, psychological, and spiritual aspects of care. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.


Responsibilities


  • Clinical Oversight

    • Oversees the clinical operations for all nursing clinical support activities.



  • Ensure adequate staffing/FTEs for assigned clinics

    • Maintains effective nursing staff coverage and operating costs for the practice and/or satellites within budgetary parameters.



  • Ensure clinical operations and practice consistent with organizational objectives

    • Monitors and evaluates patient satisfaction and quality assurance measures.



  • Staff Development

    • Coordinates, implements, and assists with staff training, in-services, and internal developmental programs for nursing staff.

    • Assists with annual performance evaluations for nursing department staff.

    • Serves as mentor/preceptor and provides day to day guidance to less experienced nurses.

    • Other duties as assigned.




Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the Nurse Supervisor will have the following background and experience:


  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN or MSN preferred.

  • RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.

  • Minimum 5 year actively practicing as a registered nurse, including at least 3 years in oncology.

  • Current CPR certification required.

  • 1 years of leadership experience preferred.

  • Current or pending oncology certification preferred.

  • Chemotherapy Immunotherapy provider card preferred.
