The Clinical Manager is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating patient care by coordinating, delegating, and supervising the healthcare team, including licensed nurses, certified nursing assistants, health unit coordinators, and other health professionals.

Responsibilities
  • Communication and Relationship Building: Proficient in communication and technologies to address nursing, healthcare, and organizational issues; establish effective information sharing structures; demonstrate follow-through; exhibit empathy; build credibility with physicians; collaborate with medical staff; foster relationships with nursing academia.
  • Quality Improvement: Use evidence-based data to establish standards and practices; participate in quality review and risk management; involve staff in quality initiatives; participate in patient satisfaction strategies; review and update clinical policies.
  • Safety: Support national patient safety goals; understand disaster and fire plans; incorporate safety into policies; promote a non-punitive error reporting environment.
  • Resource Management: Stay current with patient care systems; serve as a change agent; understand regulations.
  • Business Skills: Understand healthcare finances; analyze staffing, patient care, and budgets; identify educational needs.
  • Staff Supervision: Recruit, retain, coach, delegate, and create an inclusive environment; involve staff in decision-making.
  • Professionalism: Demonstrate accountability; support professional development; uphold ethical principles; promote a healthy work environment; prioritize patient care.
Qualifications

Education: BSN; current licensure; professional certification preferred.

Experience: 3-5 years of management experience.
