Responsibilities

A registered nurse in this institution will deliver nursing care to patients of varying age groups by utilizing the nursing process and nursing practice standards. The registered nurse will maintain competency and application of the scientific knowledge necessary to meet patient needs. The registered nurse demonstrates organizational skills, providing ease in work flow. The nurse is knowledgeable and supportive of the hospital, department, and nursing unit philosophies.

Essential Key Job Responsibilities
  • Conduct care assessments and interpret assessment data to determine care needs.
  • Complete system-based and hospital-specific competencies.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of observations, treatments, medications, and patient responses.
  • Collaborate with patients and families to evaluate, plan, and administer care, incorporating cultural, religious, psychosocial, physical, and age-related considerations.
  • Administer medications safely and accurately.
  • Delegate and supervise routine technical functions to appropriate personnel.
  • Evaluate patient outcomes and revise care plans accordingly.
  • Negotiate with patients, families, and healthcare team members to resolve conflicts.
  • Act as a resource and support the hospital's mission of teaching and learning.
  • Support patient- and family-centered care, involving them in the care plan and providing education and support.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to meet the needs of the facility and customers.
Qualifications

Required Education: Graduation from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.

Required Licensure and Certifications: Current RN license in Kentucky, BLS, ACLS, and any required specialty certifications.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Minimum one year of RN experience in an acute care setting, with critical care experience preferred. Knowledge of current nursing practices is essential.

Pay Range

$45.00 per hour
