Job description

Clinical Research Technician

As one of the largest Clinical Research Organizations in the world, we have four Early Phase Clinical Research Units in the UK and US.

We are currently seeking a Clinical Research Technician to interact directly with our healthy volunteer participants while learning to read clinical research protocols and enjoy working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Each day is different, exposing you to a wide variety of therapeutic indications and study types such as ascending dose, first-in-human, food effect, drug-to-drug interactions, and more.

This is a full-time, office/clinic-based position in Madison, WI.

Joining us means working with some of the world's leading pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device companies during a vital stage of clinical development: establishing the safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics of new drugs.

Many technicians are drawn to this profession because of its direct impact on patient care. Working in Phase 1 trials allows you to have a close face-to-face relationship with participants, practice your clinical skills, and witness the development of the latest medical technologies and treatments firsthand. When the drugs you work with get approved, you'll know you've touched many patients' lives worldwide.

What You Will Do

You will utilize your skills, knowledge, and clinical judgment to provide high-quality care in clinical research.

Other key responsibilities:
  • Accurately perform blood pressure, venipuncture, weights, pulse, respiratory rate, and temperature readings
  • Prepare and accurately record ECGs/Holters
  • Collect and process biological samples as specified in the protocol and ensure proper distribution
  • Monitor meals to ensure dietary compliance by research participants
  • Assist in the preparation of rooms and medical equipment
  • Assist with screening procedures as needed
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient working and study environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned
You Need to Bring...
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • EMT, Phlebotomy, CMA, or CNA certification preferred
  • Associates degree in a related field with 1 year of clinical research experience may substitute for a BS degree
  • High School diploma with 1-2 years of experience as a Clinical Research Technician I may substitute for a BS degree

We value candidates who are comfortable working in an environment that is:

  • Fast-paced: where adherence to study protocols and timelines is critical to maintain quality.
  • Changing priorities: requiring you to adapt and prioritize on the spot.
  • Teamwork and people skills: essential for smooth study operations.
  • Technology-based: as we collect data directly into an electronic environment.
