Job summary

The Johns Hopkins University in Maryland seeks a Clinical Research Supervisor to administratively coordinate protocol implementation for one or more studies. The role will supervise a minimum of two full-time team members and oversee protocol-related operational tasks.

The position requires a bachelor's degree and at least two years of related experience, with opportunities to substitute education or experience per university policy. Regular hours are Mon–Fri on the School of Medicine Campus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Two years of related experience.
• Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education per the JHU equivalency formula.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all activities of a clinical research study to ensure adherence to protocol and validity of findings.
• Facilitate administrative hiring processes and participate in staff interviews and hiring decisions.
• Delegate and oversee performance of study tasks.
• Set performance goals, coach staff, and conduct performance evaluations.
• Participate in clinical study start-up meeting.
• Assist research nurses, principal investigators, and other study personnel in executing protocol-related activities.
• Explain study background and rationale to participants and staff.
• Contribute to recruitment strategy for participants and implement recruitment techniques.
• Independently conduct the consenting process or supervise consent by trained staff.
• Schedule participants for required activities and issue special instructions.
• Assist with data collection systems and data entry/organization.
• Coordinate study meetings and provide updates on protocol implementation status.
• Assist with IRB submissions and liaise with IRB on administrative matters.
• Conduct literature searches to support background information.
• Maintain operating knowledge of clinical protocols, equipment, and computer systems.
• Oversee budget expenditures for study operations.
• Other duties as assigned.
