Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Clinical Research Nurse Coordinator to join our team. This role requires an Illinois-licensed registered nurse with clinical trials experience and strong communication skills to serve as a liaison between NU investigator teams and Northwestern Medicine.

You will collaborate with the inter-professional team to ensure compliant study conduct across the lifecycle of protocols, adhering to nursing standards and ethical guidelines.

Qualifications

• Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois.
• Experience in clinical trials
• BSN
• Minimum of two years related clinical experience.
• CPR-BLS Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)

Responsibilities

• Leads the coordination and support to Principal Investigator(s).
• Reviews research studies in pre-submission phase for feasibility of protocol implementation.
• Guides the review, revision, and maintenance of protocols. Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Provides guidance to clinical research nurses on projects related to new study submissions and workflows.
• Develops and maintains clinical nursing research policies and SOPs.
• Reviews deviations and trends; reports findings and recommends actions.
• Collaborates with staff to orient and train new CRNCs.
• Identifies training needs for unfamiliar practices to ensure patient safety and protocol compliance.
• Escalates research-related concerns to leadership.
• Mentors team on communication and collaboration with investigator teams.
