Job summary

ProTouch Staffing in San Antonio, TX seeks a part-time Clinical Research Gastroenterologist to lead or co-lead trials (Phase I–IV) with flexible hours.

The physician will perform screenings, exams, and safety oversight, collaborating with research teams to ensure protocol compliance and accurate documentation.

Active Texas medical licensure, board-certified in gastroenterology, and clinical research experience are preferred; DEA and BLS/ACLS are required.

Qualifications

• MD or DO with active Texas medical license.
• Board-certified in Gastroenterology.
• DEA license and BLS/ACLS certification.
• Prior clinical research experience preferred (training available).
• Proficiency with EHR systems and clinical trial platforms (EDC, CTMS).

Responsibilities

• Serve as PI or Sub-I across Phase I-IV trials.
• Conduct medical screenings, exams, and specialty assessments.
• Ensure safety and protocol adherence per ICH-GCP and FDA.
• Collaborate with coordinators, nurses, and staff for documentation.
• Document patient interactions and monitor AEs/SAEs.
• Engage with sponsors, CROs, monitors, and IRBs.
• Participate in site initiation and monitoring visits.
• Contribute to feasibility reviews and study design discussions.
