Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in a scientific, health related or business administration program required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • CCRP/CCRC or equivalent preferred licensure/certification
  • Two (2) years of experience in clinical trials coordination with a Bachelor's degree
  • Four (4) years of experience in clinical trials coordination with an Associate's degree
  • Prior experience in an oncology setting is preferred
  • Knowledge of Good Clinical Practices and regulations; proficient in EMR systems and CTMS; strong written and verbal communication

Summary

The Clinical Research Coordinator II (CRC II) is a second level in the CRC career path within Clinical Trials. It is a development career position supporting the PI in clinical trials by implementing and coordinating research including administrative procedures at Moffitt Cancer Center. The CRC II may also support PI sponsored IND or IDE trials. As the primary resource for the protocols, the CRC II will coordinate patient care by collaborating with medical staff, and document in accordance with standards and regulatory guidelines. The CRC II will act as liaison between the investigators, care providers, Moffitt regulatory staff and the sponsor. Along with the investigator, the CRC II will screen, enroll, and follow study subjects, ensuring protocol compliance and close monitoring while the subjects are on study. The CRC II will perform all CRC core support and additional responsibilities of more complex studies, with a higher patient volume in comparison to the CRC I. The CRC II is responsible for determining methods and procedures for the coordination of newly assigned studies.

The supervisor or Principal Investigator will provide more detailed instructions on new complex assignments where there is limited prior depth, or breadth of knowledge or working experience. Moderate supervision is provided while developing latitude for independent judgment. Still developing and acquiring higher level knowledge and skills, while working on moderate scope complexity where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Solves a range of straight forward problems using prescribed guidelines and policies. Limited problem solving while working under defined guidelines. Continues to build productive internal/external working relationships.

Requirements
  • Education: Associate's Degree in a scientific, health related or business administration program required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Preferred Licensure/Certification: CCRP/CCRC or equivalent
  • Experience: Two (2) years of experience in clinical trials coordination with a Bachelor's degree
  • Four (4) years of experience in clinical trials coordination with an Associate's degree
  • Prior experience in an oncology setting is preferred
  • Training Required: The CRC II is required to have through knowledge of word processing (Microsoft Office Suite), database entry, and through knowledge of Good Clinical Practices and the regulations necessary for the protection of human subjects and the conduct of clinical research. This person should be proficient in the use of EMR systems, clinical trial management systems and other various data capture/reporting systems. The CRC must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and other health care professionals. This person possesses a proficient understanding of medical terminology required. The CRC II is required to work under minimal supervision to plan, organize, and coordinate multiple work assignments, establish and maintain effective working relationships with others in a team setting and communicate clearly verbally and in writing. The person must have the ability to prioritize and pace one’s-self when working under the pressure of deadlines and work volume. The CRC II successfully demonstrates competency by meeting established competency guideline/check list annually.
Salary Range

$29.05 - $44.28
