Job summary

University of Arizona in Tucson seeks a Clinical Research Coordinator II to support clinical research and human tissue biobanking initiatives. You will recruit and consent patients, coordinate tissue collection, manage specimens, and ensure regulatory compliance.

The role involves daily lab operations, data management, and collaboration with researchers, physicians, and clinical staff in a fast-paced setting. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent advanced learning or higher.
• Minimum of 3 years related work experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Phlebotomy training preferred.
• Experience with processing samples.
• Experience or knowledge of laboratory processes.
• Experience working or volunteering directly with patients in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor specimen management to maintain chain-of-custody, data accuracy and quality.
• Perform study-related assessments (ECGs, vitals, height/weight, dispensing study meds) and report adverse events.
• Involve consent, screening, enrollment and re-consenting for IRB-approved trials.
• Coordinate patient care requirements of IRB-approved protocols (consent, scheduling, documentation).
• Ensure data collection and submission into data management systems (CTMS, EMR, EDC).
• Collect and process tissue samples in collaboration with surgeons and pathologists.
• Assist with specimen management protocol development and site visits/audits for IITs.
