Job summary

The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) seeks a Clinical Research Coordinator I to support concussion and mild traumatic brain injury research at Keller Army Community Hospital and the United States Military Academy.

You will assist the Principal Investigator and study team with baseline and follow-up assessments, manage data collection for head impact studies, and contribute to other orthopaedic research projects within MTBI2.

HJF is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator I to perform clinical research and patient treatment in conjunction with one or more specified clinical research protocols.

The Clinical Research Coordinator I provides assistance to the Principal Investigator and Study Team coordinating research activities. The coordinator will be responsible for coordinating and conducting baseline concussion assessments, follow-up assessments post injury, and assisting with the oversight and collection of head impact data for collegiate athletics teams and/or physical education courses (combatives, boxing). There may be additional opportunities to help with other lines of research (Lower Extremity Injury Prevention, Post-Traumatic Osteoarthritis) supported by the Orthopaedic Research Department at KACH.

This position is located at Keller Army Community Hospital (KACH) in West Point, NY under PI Dr. Kenneth Cameron. This position will primarily support the research portfolio related to concussion and mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) at Keller Army Hospital and the United States Military Academy. However, there may be opportunities to also support the musculoskeletal injury research portfolio. The position is with the Military Traumatic Brain Injury Initiative (MTBI2). MTBI2is a federal military traumatic brain injury (TBI) research program organized as a partnership between the Uniformed Services University and the National Institutes of Health. MTBI2 supports a wide range of research from pre-clinical models to investigational projects and clinical trials research on TBI and its comorbidities.
