Job summary

Capital Health is seeking a Nurse Educator for Clinical Research and Evidence-Based Practice to advance staff development and research initiatives. The role emphasizes mentoring, scholarly dissemination, and leadership in shared governance within a healthcare setting.

The candidate will promote research education, coordinate system-wide activities, and collaborate on IRB protocols, abstracts, and manuscripts while supporting graduate and doctoral students.

Qualifications

• Masters degree required.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Five years of acute care experience.
• Two years of research experience.
• CITI training.
• Excellent mentoring skills.
• Public speaking skills.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to respond quickly in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Promote the professional development of clinical staff.
• Assess research learning needs.
• Serve as a role model for evidence-based practice and research.
• Identify and implement clinical research opportunities at Capital Health.
• Coordinate system-wide education on research activities.
• Assist colleagues in preparing abstracts and manuscripts.
• Provide communication channels for research dissemination.
• Support the organizational shared governance structure.
• Chair the Research and EBP Committee.
• Participate in shared governance meetings as needed.
• Teach using varied instructional methods and strategies.
• Disseminate relevant learning offerings within and outside Capital Health.
• Promote clinical research as a strategic nursing-division initiative.
• Identify research priorities with departmental leadership.
• Promote application of research activities toward evidence-based practice.
• Mentor colleagues in research activities, publishing, presentations, and statistical analyses.
• Participate in IRB activities and prepare protocols for IRB review.
• Analyze and interpret statistical data.
• Acquire research grants to expand the clinical research program.
• Support clinical graduate and doctoral students in completing projects.
• Mentor doctoral-level students.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
