BSD MED - Emergency Medicine - Del Rios Research Staff
The Del Rios lab, housed within the section of Emergency Medicine, centers on identifying and mitigating place-based barriers to preventing and surviving catastrophic medical emergencies. We partner with multidisciplinary, multi-institutional research teams to combine rigorous quantitative methods, community engagement, and implementation-focused approaches to address urgent public health challenges, including out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, respiratory virus communication, and the mental health effects of structural and policy environments on minoritized youth. Our work emphasizes the use of mixed methods including machine learning, statistical modeling, epidemiology, and health services research, while fostering trusted community partnerships to develop practical, scalable strategies that improve preparedness, strengthen public health communication, and advance equitable health outcomes.
The Clinical Research Coordinator 1 will be responsible for day-to-day research operations across community-based, clinical, and data-driven projects; managing IRB submissions and regulatory documentation; assisting with participant recruitment and enrollment; organizing qualitative interviews, focus groups, and stakeholder engagement activities; tracking study timelines and deliverables; and maintaining high-quality study data. The coordinator may also help liaise with community health workers, public health agencies, healthcare providers, schools, and other partner organizations, making strong communication and relationship-building skills especially important. Because the lab’s work spans topics such as out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, health communication, and policy impacts on youth mental health, the position would be well suited for someone with interests in public health, emergency medicine, health services research, and community-engaged, equity-focused research.
Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.
