Job summary

Citrus Cardiology Consultants, PLLC is seeking a highly organized Research Coordinator to support and manage clinical research studies within our growing cardiology practice. The Research Coordinator will work closely with physicians, research sponsors, patients, and regulatory agencies to ensure the successful execution of clinical trials and observational studies focused on cardiovascular health.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Nursing, Public Health, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical research experience.
  • Knowledge of GCP, FDA regulations, and human subject protection requirements.
  • Proficiency with EMR systems and Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all aspects of assigned clinical research studies from startup through closeout.
  • Screen, recruit, and enroll eligible patients into clinical trials.
  • Obtain and document informed consent in accordance with study protocols and regulatory guidelines.
  • Schedule and conduct study visits, assessments, and follow-up appointments.
  • Collect, review, and accurately enter study data into electronic data capture systems.
  • Maintain source documents, regulatory binders, and study files.
  • Ensure compliance with FDA regulations, ICH-GCP guidelines, HIPAA requirements, and institutional policies.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between investigators, sponsors, CROs, and study participants.
  • Coordinate laboratory testing, diagnostic procedures, and cardiovascular assessments as required by study protocols.
  • Monitor study progress and report adverse events, protocol deviations, and safety concerns in a timely manner.
  • Prepare for sponsor monitoring visits, audits, and regulatory inspections.
  • Assist with budgeting, study feasibility assessments, and participant retention strategies.
  • Support principal investigators in meeting enrollment and study milestones.

The ideal candidate will have experience in clinical research, excellent communication skills, and a passion for advancing cardiovascular medicine through innovative research.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate all aspects of assigned clinical research studies from startup through closeout.
  • Screen, recruit, and enroll eligible patients into clinical trials.
  • Obtain and document informed consent in accordance with study protocols and regulatory guidelines.
  • Schedule and conduct study visits, assessments, and follow-up appointments.

Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Nursing, Public Health, or a related field; equivalent clinical research experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical research experience.
  • Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP), FDA regulations, and human subject protection requirements.
  • Proficiency with EMR systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple studies simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
Preferred
  • Experience coordinating cardiology or cardiovascular clinical trials.
  • Certified Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC) or Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) certification.
  • Clinical experience as a Registered Nurse, Medical Assistant, or allied health professional.
  • Experience with electronic data capture systems and clinical trial management software.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to assist with patient visits and perform study-related assessments as needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
