Clinical Research Coordinators (Non-R.N.)
Assists in facilitating the conduct of clinical research by performing research and clinical duties. Provides patient care within the scope of nursing practice and in compliance with guidelines set by governing agencies. Serve as the clinical champion for a critical care study, ensuring that the research protocol is seamlessly integrated into daily patient care while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety, regulatory compliance, and scientific integrity. Work closely with providers, ICU nurses, advanced practice providers, research staff, and study sponsors to coordinate complex clinical trial(s) involving critically ill patients. Work Environment and Level of Frequency that may be required:
Nearly Continuously: Daily presence in the ICU and close collaboration with clinical teams caring for critically ill patients. Office environment.
Often: Infectious disease; oils (including air or skin exposure to oils or other cutting fluids); hazards (including a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, or exposure to chemicals).
Physical Requirements and Level of Frequency that may be required:
Nearly continuously: Hearing, listening, talking.
Often: Repetitive hand motion (such as typing), walking, standing, sitting.
Seldom: Bending, reaching overhead.
The staff member must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care to the patients served on his or her assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of lifespan growth and development and the ability to assess patient status data and provide care as described in the department’s policies and procedures manual.
EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT : 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor’s degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).
