Job Summary

Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital Burn Rehabilitation Laboratory is seeking a highly motivated, organized, and team-oriented Research Coordinator. This position is an opportunity to be an engaged and productive member of our research team; our team highly values the contributions of all of its members and is committed to your professional growth. The research coordinator will support various projects in the lab, including a newly-funded stakeholder-engaged study focused on developing, refining, and evaluating a community-based self-management program for adults living with chronic burn injury. The Research Coordinator will support day-to-day study operations, including stakeholder engagement and collaboration on the project, participant recruitment and follow-up, qualitative and quantitative data collection, data management, and dissemination activities. The position involves regular interaction with burn survivors, community partners, clinicians, and members of an interdisciplinary research team and requires professionalism, careful attention to detail, and respect for participants' rights and lived experiences.

Following established policies, procedures, and study protocols, provides assistance on clinical research studies, including recruiting, evaluating, and consenting patients for studies; collecting and organizing patient data; scheduling patients for study visits; performing clinical tests such as phlebotomy, EKGs, etc.; and maintaining and updating data generated by the study. Candidates who are in the process of completing their bachelor's degree have a six-month grace period from their hire date (up to one year if starting on a per diem basis)to provide degree equivalency verification.

Essential Functions

  • Professionalism, reliability, cultural humility, and respect for participants' autonomy, rights, perspectives, and lived experiences.
Experience
  • Human subjects research experience preferred.
  • Experience interacting with patients, people with disabilities or chronic health conditions, or community members preferred.
  • Experience with participant recruitment, informed consent, surveys, interviews, focus groups, or stakeholder-engaged research preferred.
  • Experience with REDCap, qualitative data software, statistical software, electronic medical records, or similar research systems is preferred but not required.
  • Basic knowledge of qualitative or quantitative research methods and data management preferred.
  • Experience preparing plain-language, community-facing, or educational materials is preferred.
