Job summary

Rush University Medical Center is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator II to independently coordinate aspects of clinical studies across disciplines. Responsibilities include participant recruitment and retention, data management, regulatory documentation, sponsor communication, and study monitoring.

The CRC II will execute protocols with growing independence and mentor junior staff while upholding Rush policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 2+ years of experience coordinating clinical trials.
• Independent site management experience.
• Experience in lieu of a degree: 3 years total clinical trials experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate recruitment, consent, screening, scheduling, tracking, and provide study updates to participants.
• Collect and enter data into case report forms or electronic data capture systems and respond to queries.
• Submit study documents to the IRB with increasing autonomy over time.
• Ensure regulatory documentation complies with institutional, local, state, and federal guidelines.
• Monitor data accuracy against source documentation for audit readiness.
• May collect, process, and ship potentially biohazardous specimens.
• Provide education to participants on study procedures and use study-related technology.
• Prepare summary reports for the PI, Administrator, sponsors, and Compliance.
• Participate in auditing and monitoring visits and address protocol deviations.
• Collaborate with PI, sponsor, compliance, and staff to improve study processes.
• Provide oversight and coaching to less experienced staff.
• Other duties as assigned.
