Responsibilities

  • Identify, retrieve, process and data collect archived samples per project specs.

  • Ensure de-identification of samples and compliant data transfer per IRB guidelines.
  • Interpret and transcribe medical terminology related to biospecimens.
  • Adhere to protocols for sample handling, storage, and shipping.
  • Complete annual trainings and maintain confidentiality.
  • Comply with HIPAA, OSHA, and relevant regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Location: Austin, TX Status: Full-time Shift: 1st Benefit Eligible

The Clinical Research Coordinator will be responsible for collection and preparation of samples for pre-clinical research.

Essential Key Responsibilities:
  • Become proficient in the identification, retrieval, processing and data collection associated with archived biological samples for research that meet project specifications.
  • Maintain accurate records and proper documentation of project activities associated with all assigned studies.
  • Develop competency in properly de-identifing study samples and become knowledgeable in the appropriate transfer of study data in compliance with all federal regulations and Institutional Review Board (IRB) guidelines.
  • Gain and apply expertise in the interpretation and transcription of complex medical terminology associated with research biospecimen annotations.
  • Adhere to all relevant protocols and guidelines for sample handling, storage, and shipping of biological samples.
  • Complete annual training programs within the required timeframe.
  • Maintain strictest confidentiality.
  • Comply with all state, federal, professional regulations as well as company and departmental rules, polices, and procedural manuals.
  • Adhere to HIPAA, Safety and OSHA Regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree required, BA/BS science‑related degree preferred
Experience:
  • Experience working in laboratory or industry related fields
  • Experience working in pathology laboratories desired
  • Experience working in regulated environments with biological samples and processing
