Job summary

University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) is seeking a contractual Clinical Research Assistant to support the Brain Rehab and Recovery lab within the School of Medicine – Department of Physical Therapy. You will execute bedside screening, lead recruitment with informed consent, and manage biospecimen workflows, while maintaining regulatory readiness and SOP development.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field and prior clinical research experience; familiarity with EMR

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a scientific field related to clinical research.
• Experience in clinical research or hospital setting preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with Epic EMR and regulatory documentation a plus.

Responsibilities

• Execute bedside screening across inpatient units via EPIC to identify eligible participants.
• Lead recruitment and obtain informed consent (or proxy consent when needed).
• Perform bedside research procedures and standardized assessments.
• Manage biospecimen workflow including collection and QC for downstream analyses.
