Qualifications

  • Assist with subject recruitment and scheduling.
  • Collect, process, and verify research data, samples, and specimens following SOPs and protocols.
  • Enter health history and vital signs into patient records accurately.
  • Obtain pertinent labs and tests as needed by the provider to assist with patient care.
  • Assist with setup, operation and maintenance of research equipment as instructed.
  • Assist with processing and shipping of laboratory specimens.
  • Maintain timely communication with patients.
  • Support regulatory as needed.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Perform data verification and quality control.

Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:

Provides assistance in the collection and processing of research data, samples, and/or specimens in support of a specified medical research study or group of studies.

May perform and record routine clinical tests and procedures in strict accordance with Research SOPs and clinical protocol.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Assists with subject recruitment and subject scheduling.
  • Contacts potential subjects to introduce and explain study objectives and protocol, and to arrange study visits.
  • Collects, processes, and assists in the compilation and verification of research date, sample and/or specimens, following SOPs protocol and detailed instructions.
  • Assist with routine data verification and quality control, ensuring data integrity.
  • Collect health history and vital sign data and enter into patient records accurately, thoroughly and in a timely manner.
  • Obtain pertinent labs, other tests as needed by the provider to assist with patient care with promptness.
  • Assists in the setup, operation, and maintenance of research equipment, instrumentation, and/or facilities, specifically instructed.
  • Assists with processing and shipping of laboratory specimens.
  • Maintain timely communication with patients.
  • Support regulatory as needed.
  • All other needs as assigned.
  • Performs a variety of activities to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
A.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Ability to collect standard vital signs.
  • Ability to communicate in a courteous manner, friendly tone and in intelligible speech always.
  • Possess basic customer service skills and phone etiquette
  • Possess basic typing/windows computers skills
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology
  • Ability to understand and follow scientific research protocol and procedures.
  • Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
  • Ability to understand and apply specified field and/or laboratory research procedures and protocols.
  • Ability to always maintain patient confidentiality.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • College Degree in Biology
  • Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in administrative medical office setting
