Job Title:Clinical Research AssistantDepartment:Medicine | Psychiatry

To assist and support scientific investigation to study treatment and phenomenology of the early course of psychotic disorders as directed in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health; independently conducts assigned experiments; administers and scores assessments as part of study protocol; contributes to completion and submission of regulatory documents; records, consolidates and assists with analysis of research results;; manage data entry and database integrity; assists in evaluating validity of data obtained from experimental procedures; summarizes data for inclusion in grant proposals and manuscripts; prepares research progress reports; assists principal investigator with the preparation of publications, manuscripts, articles, posters, and abstracts; conducts library research on requested topics through researching current literature; oversees and maintains accurate records of laboratory activities; assists with training and onboarding of junior research staff, and undergraduate and graduate students in research methods and equipment operation; sets up and operates laboratory equipment; monitors research inventory and initiates procurement requests as needed. It is anticipated that much of the work for this position will be completely remotely.

Minimum Education and Skills/Experience Required/Desired

Bachelor’s Degree in biological sciences, health sciences, psychology or psychiatry, or equivalent combination of education experience; experience in research capacity desired; knowledge or experience in specialty may be desired; experience performing basic laboratory procedures to process biological specimens or images may be desired; computer skill required with knowledge of database software applications desired, or equivalent combination of experience.
