Job summary

Virginia Heart is recruiting a Clinical Research Assistant to support outpatient cardiology trials at our Fairfax site. You will assist in coordinating studies, screening and enrolling participants, and maintaining essential regulatory files.

Qualifications

  • At least one year of clinical research experience.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • EMR experience (EPIC a plus).
  • Knowledge of regulatory guidelines (ICH-GCP, FDA) desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Clinical Research Coordinator to oversee planning, implementation, and completion of clinical research studies.
  • Assist in recruitment, screening, and enrollment of study participants, ensuring eligibility.
  • Maintain accurate and complete study documentation and regulatory files.
  • Coordinate study visits and procedures, scheduling participant appointments and tests.
  • Communicate with participants, healthcare providers, and staff to support study procedures.
  • Assist in data collection, entry, and management ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Prepare and submit regulatory documents to IRBs and authorities.
  • Participate in team meetings, training, and QA activities.
  • Maintain knowledge of GCP and regulatory requirements governing clinical research.
