Position: Clinical Quality Assurance Specialist

Role Overview: The Clinical QA Specialist is responsible for contributing to and evaluating end product results, and tracking and improving clinical quality metrics for a clinician-in-the-loop AI platform that focuses on medical record summarization. The role combines clinical expertise with AI and process improvement to enhance patient care, ensure safety, and meet quality standards set by Fourier Health. The position involves both hands-on clinical summary reviews and providing direct support on clinical quality initiatives, training, and performance metrics.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Clinical Case Review: Conduct thorough summarization case reviews for accuracy, clinical completeness, and clarity. Identify areas for improvement at the summarizer level and provide reeducation or workflow support as needed.
Quality & Performance Improvement: Focused on meeting KPI metrics both at the organization level and customer-specific level. Utilize data-driven insights to identify performance gaps, measure effectiveness of existing workflows, and create workflow improvement plans. Proactively identify potential quality issues and provide reeducation or propose new workflows as needed.
Clinical Workflow & Algorithm Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support process improvement aimed at enhancing clinical quality and soundness of end product. Review, test, and monitor new and evolving automation developments.
Training & Education: Support the development of training and evidence based education materials to onboard new summarizers. Communicate product enhancements or defects and workaround solutions as needed to ensure productivity is unaffected.
A top candidate for this role is:- A licensed clinician (RN licensure minimally) with an unencumbered license in their state of residence
- Has had a prior role in clinical quality assurance or utilization review with a keen eye for accuracy, clinical relevance, and clarity.
- Curious and proactive about solving challenges within the healthcare system
- Skilled in interpreting clinical notes across different specialties. Experience in Oncology, Fertility/REI, and/or Primary Care would be an added bonus
- Comfortable giving structured feedback on large sets of clinical data and driving continuous improvement through QA metrics and audits
- Technically savvy, quick to dive in to learning new systems and software. Able to communicate with IT teams and share feedback and ideas for improvement.

RequirementsRequired Qualifications:
Clinical Expertise: Licensed Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA), with a minimum of 2-3 years of clinical experience. Demonstrated ability to apply clinical knowledge across specialties
Clinical Training Experience: Experience in training or precepting clinicians, and/or building or enhancing training and onboarding workflows.
Quality & Safety: Meticulous attention to detail and ability to simultaneously understand broader company vision and end-user experience.
Communication & Leadership: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong leadership abilities with experience in working with cross-functional teams
Problem Solving & Strategic Thinking: Ability to identify issues, implement solutions, and think strategically about improving clinical processes and algorithms independently. Has a sense of ownership of role and associated responsibilities.
Bonus Qualifications:
- Prior experience working with AI and clinical algorithm design
- Experience in quality improvement and/or performance management
- Experience working on EHR systems and workflow development
- Background in clinical safety and/or quality improvement initiatives
- Oncology experience
