Bureau of Prisons/Federal Prison System seeks corrections professionals who foster a humane and secure environment and ensure public safety by preparing individuals for successful reentry into our communities.

To be considered, you must hold a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology and a full, current license to practice at the doctoral level in the United States. At least one year of specialized experience at a comparable level is required.

Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology required.
  • License to practice psychology at doctoral level in the U.S. (state, territory, DC) required.
  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level.
  • Experience developing and coordinating psychology internship programs.
  • Experience in recruitment/selection and training of students for practicum/internships.
  • Experience in administering and interpreting personality evaluation methods.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, monitor, and coordinate psychology internship programs.
  • Recruit, select, and mentor students for practicum/internship programs.
  • Schedule didactic on-site training and organize off-site training opportunities.
  • Administer, score, and interpret a wide variety of personality evaluations.
  • Assist with interdisciplinary classification of inmates and development of related programs.
  • Facilitate individual and group psychotherapy regularly.
