You will conduct pre-surgical assessments and coordinate behavioral health care for adults undergoing bariatric treatment, working with surgeons, obesity medicine specialists, and dietitians.

The role includes collaboration, research opportunities, and education for medical staff, with emphasis on evidence-based approaches to weight loss and mood/anxiety management.

Qualifications

• Doctorate in Psychology from an APA-accredited program.
• One year APA-approved internship in Clinical Psychology or Clinical Health Psychology.
• Licensed to practice Psychology in Connecticut.
• Training in clinical health psychology or medical settings.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Conduct pre-surgical assessments of adult weight loss candidates.
• Assess suitability for non-surgical obesity interventions.
• Provide behavioral health services before and after bariatric surgery.
• Collaborate with obesity medicine specialists and medical providers.
• Maintain treatment records and documentation timely.
