Qualifications

• Must be a psychologist or psychiatrist licensed in at least one US state.
• Board certification or 2-year residency in Psychiatry or related field
• PhD or PsyD with a major in Psychology; adult-focused training
• Graduated from an APA-accredited program (doctorate or post-doctorate)
• Active and valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Proficiency with computers including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and informed-care decision-making
• Ability to work independently and manage time to meet deadlines
• Preferred: prior clinical settings experience; VA or C&P experience

Responsibilities

• Review relevant mental health history and perform one-time, non-treatment behavioral health exams for Veterans.
• Capture responses during the exam via electronic forms; complete documentation electronically.
• Submit completed exams to the VA for disability determinations; common issues include PTSD, depression, anxiety, and eating disorders.

Job description

We are hiring a Clinical Psychologist to join our team of talented medical professionals to conduct a one-time, non-treatment Veteran Disability Exam in Omaha, NE

• Employment Status: Part Time
• Compensation: This is a hourly position, paid bi-weekly at a rate of $60.00-63.27/hr.
• Schedule: Part Time, 3 days a week, 8 hour days.

Requirements: The Clinical Psychologist must have and meet the following:

• Must be a psychologist or psychiatrist licensed in at least one state in the United States.
• Psychiatrists or Neurologists must be board certified or must have completed a 2-year residency with either specialty
• Psychologists must obtain a PhD or PsyD with a Major in Psychology; Specialty studies must focus on the adult population such as Clinical, Counseling, or School Psychology (or a combination of these). Child-focused psychology programs are not acceptable.
• Psychologists must have graduated from a doctorate or post-doctorate APA-accredited program.
• Certification: Have an active and valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Demonstrates compassion and professionalism and a commitment to providing excellent service and care.
• Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and using EMR and platforms.
• Skilled in professional communication, critical thinking, and informed-care decision-making.
• Works independently and can manage time in order to provide a quality service while meeting set deadlines.
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior experience in clinical settings
• Prior VA or C&P experience

Job Summary:

• Review pertinent mental health history documentation and provide one-time, non-treatment behavioral health compensation and pensions exams for Veterans.
• The Clinical Psychologist will capture responses during the exam through a web-based examination form(s); all documentation will be completed electronically. Completed exams are sent to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for disability award determinations.
