Job description

Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist - Bellevue Hospital Center

The Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Bellevue Hospital Center is seeking to hire full or part-time Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists to join our Child Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (C-CPEP). Available salaried positions include Nocturnist (8pm to 8am) and weekend (8am to 8pm) shifts.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Assessing and treating (or supervising such assessments and treatments performed by trainees) emergency evaluation patients, psychiatric consults in the PES and hospital, patients admitted to the POU, and those receiving medication management in the Crisis Clinic.
  2. Providing medical management, including ordering labs, radiological exams, and collaborating with pediatrics and other services as needed.
  3. Reviewing clinical documentation from other hospitals, accepting transfers when beds are available, and participating in admission processes for direct transfers.
  4. Managing crises, including assessing and managing agitated or dangerous patients, ordering IM medications and restraints when necessary, with proper debriefing and documentation.
  5. Teaching and supervising trainees and supervising psychiatric Nurse Practitioners in the C-CPEP.

Salary Range: $250,000 to $320,000 (full-time)
