Clinical Program Therapist
Your experience matters
As a Clinical Program Therapist at Twin County Regional Hospital, you will provide psychotherapy and counseling therapies including group, individual, and family therapy for patients with psychiatric and substance abuse issues. You will ensure accurate and timely patient documentation.
Responsibilities
- Conduct individual and group therapy sessions to educate patients regarding psychological, emotional, or substance abuse problems.
- Display active involvement in the treatment planning process.
- Provide family session counseling to all patients to ensure appropriate communication and involvement of family members and support groups.
- Actively communicate with clients, families, and outside referral sources. Demonstrate proactive communication with those involved with the patient's treatment.
- Work well with the interdisciplinary team including physicians, utilization review, and nursing staff members.
- Effectively communicate to UR on treatment and LOS issues.
- Complete appropriate paperwork for clients in a timely, accurate, and complete manner.
- Demonstrate appropriate crisis intervention and de-escalation skills. Act as a member of the team when a crisis situation occurs, assisting others to ensure patient safety.
- Complete accurate assessments of patients utilizing clinical skills. Assist care coordination department as requested.
- Complete all documentation thoroughly, timely, and in accordance with hospital standards.
- Display a thorough knowledge of confidentiality. Complete releases appropriately. Demonstrate knowledge of HIPAA regulations and abides by those standards.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of all clinical regulations, including TJC, Medicaid, and state and federal laws.
- Display active involvement in the discharge, transition, and after-care planning treatment processes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in social work or counseling.
- Prior experience with psychiatric and chemical dependency patients.
- Current unencumbered clinical license per state practice guidelines.
- CPR and CPI certified within 30 days of employment.
- May be required to work flexible hours.
