Job summary

Florida Medical Clinic Orlando Health is seeking a Clinical Practice Supervisor in the Nephrology department. This full-time role oversees daily clinical operations and staff, ensuring policy compliance and efficient scheduling across multiple sites, including travel to Tampa, Wesley Chapel, and Zephyrhills.

The position requires leadership, clinical supervision, and collaboration with physicians and administration to drive quality care and practice growth.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Medical Assistant training from an approved technical school or higher.
  • Current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification and one of CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA certifications.
  • Two years of related experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the clinical staff within the department.
  • Supervise personnel, ensure compliance with policies, and manage scheduling and reporting.
  • Coordinate with AVP/Director of Operations and Nursing to ensure clinical quality.
  • Plan staffing to meet workload and develop staff through training opportunities.
  • Develop and monitor quality assurance activities, ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with physicians and admin staff to improve efficiency and growth.
  • Provide management reports for practice planning and marketing.

Department: Nephrology

Status: Full Time - Monday -Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Location: This position travels to Tampa, Wesley Chapel, & Zephyrhills.

Position Summary: The Clinical Practice Supervisor has operational and clinical supervisory responsibility and is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the clinical staff within the department.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • The Supervisor focuses on daily operations such as personnel supervision, compliance with organizational policies and procedures,facility management, patient scheduling and business-related reporting and functions.
  • Participates in the hiring, supervision, work assignments, coaching plans, and disciplinary actions of assigned team members.
  • Acts as a resource for the service line Assistant Vice President, Director of Operations, and/or Operations Manager.
  • Collaborates with the service line Clinical Operations Manager or Director of Nursing to ensure clinical quality and standardization.
  • Manages operations to provide physician clients with the most efficient and cost-effective clinical operation.
  • Schedule’s staffing to meet changing workload needs.
  • Identifies training needs for team members and facilitates development opportunities. This includes the evaluation of training,implementation, orientation, and participation of education programs.
  • Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates quality assurance activities, ensuring compliance with standards, laws, regulations,and procedures. Recommends new and/or revised policies and procedures to the department.
  • Able to analyze medical records and documentation and identify problem areas.
  • Able to collaborate effectively with physicians and administrative staff.
  • Assist physician(s) with creation of strategies for efficiency and growth of the practice.
  • Provides management reports to physicians and administration for review, practice planning, practice marketing, and completespractice development.
  • Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet development, and presentation skills required.
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service, and supervisory skills required.
  • Provides department level orientation to new team members to include system software, telephone processes and protocols, officeequipment usage, departmental policies and procedures, customer service expectations, job competencies, and coaching plans.
  • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state,and local standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.

Other Related Functions

  • Educates and supervises clinical and non-clinical staff.
  • Provides necessary documentation relating to policies and procedures.
  • Maintains confidentiality of data and information.
  • Functions as a member of the medial office management team.
  • Knowledge of medical practice protocols and standards.
  • Skilled in documentation of patient care including reviewing for accuracy and completeness.
  • Other clinical tasks/duties as needed
Qualifications

Education/TrainingHigh school graduate or equivalent.Successful completion of Medical Assistant training from an approved technical school required or above.

Licensure/CertificationMaintains current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification – and maintains current certification by one of the following agencies:

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) (www.aama-ntl.org)
  • Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) by American Medical Technologists (AMT) (www.amt1.com)
