Primary Purpose Of Position
The School of Nursing, within the Hairston College of Health and Human Sciences at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, is seeking a Clinical Placement Coordinator.
The primary purpose of this role is to support the School of Nursing in coordinating and managing clinical and preceptor sites in the Doctor of Nursing Practice ( DNP ) programs. The clinical placement coordinator also identifies, recruits, and tours new clinical/practicum agency student placement sites for DNP students and assures that clinical and preceptor hours are met for students’ needs.
The ideal candidate will be expected to (i) Demonstrate the ability to build relationships with clinical partners and collaborations for nursing program clinical placement, (ii) Maintain and update clinical contracts, Certificate of Insurance, and student credentials, and serve as a liaison for the School of Nursing during clinical and preceptor site visits, (iii)Interact with clinical sites to plan for and schedule student group clinical or individual precepted rotations; (iv) Interacts with clinical sites to plan for and schedule student group clinical or individual precepted rotations; (v) incorporate modern pedagogical skills in teaching nursing courses to undergraduate and graduate courses; and (vi ) provide service to the SON , the college and university as well as to appropriate community and professional organizations.
Partnering with other John R. and Kathy R. Hairston College of Health and Human Sciences ( HCHHS ) and School of Nursing ( SON ) staff to coordinate activities related to student support services for their clinical placement.
This is a full-time, 12-month staff position with adjunct teaching opportunities.

The John R. and Kathy R. Hairston College of Health and Human Sciences ( HCHHS ) comprises six departments and the School of Nursing. The HCHHS offers the following undergraduate degree programs; Communication Sciences and Disorders, Health Services Management, Kinesiology, Nursing, Psychology, and Social Work, Sociology. At the graduate level, HCHHS offers four graduate degree programs including the Masters in Physician Assistant Studies (PA program), Master of Social Work ( MSW ), Master of Science in Health Psychology and PhD in Social Work. Three additional doctoral programs being are being developed; Doctor of Nurse practice ( DNP ), PhD in Applied Psychology, and PhD in Sociology. The HCHHS is also home to the Center of Excellence in Integrative Health Disparities and Equity Research ( CIHDER ), a hub for multidisciplinary research and community engagement efforts to alleviate health inequities. The HCHHS capitalizes on the synergistic relationships between these departments to develop advanced academic health science programming, enhance the training of healthcare practitioners, and conduct collaborative multidisciplinary research and scholastic activity.
