Job summary

MedStar Health’s Washington Hospital Center in Mitchellville is looking for a licensed Physical Therapist to provide comprehensive PT services, including evaluation, treatment planning, and discharge planning.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong customer service and communication skills with patients and families across diverse ages and backgrounds, and maintains documentation in a variety of settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy.
• Graduate of an accredited school of Physical Therapy.
• Maryland, District of Columbia (DC), and/or Virginia licensure required and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides evaluation services including review of historical information and assessments, with documentation of results.
• Implements treatment protocols based on evaluation findings and patient presentation; consults with other professionals as needed.
• Completes discharge planning and follow-up, with timely documentation and charges reflective of the patient’s course of care.
• Manages schedule, prioritizes tasks, and maintains productive workflow with empathy in a patient-centered environment.
• Mentors students and assists with orientation and training of staff, volunteers, and technicians.
