Job summary

American Oncology Network at Zangmeister Cancer Center is seeking a dedicated phlebotomist to perform phlebotomy, laboratory testing, quality control, instrument troubleshooting and maintenance. You will ensure accurate results and compliance with accrediting standards.

Responsibilities include preparing slides, sending outside labs when needed, documenting results in the EMR, maintaining supplies, training new staff, and supporting the lab team across locations; overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of phlebotomy experience is required.
• High school diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform proper quality control procedures before patient testing.
• Perform technical laboratory procedures accurately and timely.
• Prepare blood or bone marrow slides for evaluation.
• Send outside labs to appropriate facility as dictated by patient’s insurance plan.
• Receive and document lab reports in the patient chart or EMR.
• Ensure compliance with accrediting and regulatory agencies.
• Maintain inventory and place orders for supplies.
• Troubleshoot instruments and contact service if necessary.
• Perform therapeutic phlebotomy and compliance testing.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and confidentiality of patient information.
• Assist in training new employees.
• May work at multiple Company locations and overtime as needed.
