Job summary

HCA Florida Osceola Hospital in Kissimmee, FL is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist under the supervision of the Clinical Pharmacist. You will prepare and dispense medications, ensure bar code verification in Meditech, and support quality improvements and patient care.

Responsibilities include ADC routines, inventory oversight, accurate record keeping for transfers and discharges, and collaboration with the health care team to maintain safe medication use and timely patient service.

Qualifications

• PharmTech Pharmacy Technician License is required.
• High School Graduate or GED required.
• No travel required.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision of the Clinical Pharmacist, prepares and dispenses prescribed medications in an accurate and timely manner.
• Verifies barcode is recognized by the Meditech system prior to dispensing.
• Performs quality control and participates in performance improvement activities.
• Participates in rounding and responds to patient needs to improve outcomes.
• ADC Super User/Trainer performing daily ADC routines and inventory management oversight.
• Prepares and monitors day-end records including Discontinued, Transfers and Discharges lists of parenteral preparations.
• Maintains communications with colleagues and other healthcare team members.
• Performs monthly medication storage area inspections.
