Job summary

Tucson Medical Center is seeking a Pharmacy Technician II PD to support the Clinical Pharmacy team. You will assist pharmacists with processing prescriptions, prepare labels, and deliver medications to patient care areas, while maintaining stock and accuracy in an acute care environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, at least 1 year of pharmacy technician experience, Arizona tech license, and CPR/BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• One year of pharmacy technician experience, preferably in an acute care setting.
• Must be 21 years of age or older due to insurance requirements for company car usage.
• Licensed by the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician.
• Heartsaver CPR or BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists by filling orders and preparing labels.
• Deliver medications to patient care areas and ancillary units.
• Replenish supply carts and automated dispensing devices.
• Compound, label, and package pharmaceuticals.
• Count, package, and label unit doses for pharmacist inspection.
• Use aseptic technique in the appropriate hood.
• Enter or retrieve data in the computer system.
• Maintain departmental competencies.
• For retail, process patient charges as required.
• Adhere to TMCH safety, confidentiality, and policies.
