Job summary

Broward Health is seeking a clinical pharmacy specialist to provide specialized clinical activities within designated programs to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The role includes medication utilization activities such as anticoagulation, pharmacokinetics, dose adjustments, order verification, and IV to PO conversions.

The specialist will precept pharmacy residents and students and may participate in committees representing the department in hospital or ambulatory settings within the focus area.

Qualifications

• Education: Degree from an Accredited College of Pharmacy.
• Experience: PGY1 Residency or equivalent, or 3 years of relevant experience.
• Licensure: Registered Pharmacist in the State of Florida.
• Certification/Registration: Board Certification or Residency preferred.
• Special Training: ACLS and/or PALS as needed; BLS Provider from AHA or ARC required.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized clinical activities within designated programs to optimize patient outcomes.
• Perform medication utilization activities including anticoagulation, pharmacokinetics, dose adjustments, order verification, and IV to PO conversions.
• Precept pharmacy residents and students.
• Participate in committees and represent the department across hospital or ambulatory settings.

Work Details: Full-time, FTE 1.0 (40 hours per week), Schedule: Days.

Job Summary

The clinical pharmacy specialist will provide specialized clinical activities relating to designated clinical programs to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The specialist will be expected to perform various types of medication utilization activities within a defined area, including but not limited to anticoagulation, pharmacokinetics, dose adjustments, order verification, and IV to PO conversions. The clinical specialist shall precept pharmacy residents and students. In addition, the specialist may be asked to participate in appropriate committees and represent the department of pharmacy throughout the hospital or ambulatory settings within the area of focus.

Job Qualifications

• Education: Degree from an Accredited College of Pharmacy.
• Experience: PGY1 Residency or equivalent, or 3 years of relevant experience.
• Licensure: Registered Pharmacist in the State of Florida.
• Certification/Registration: Board Certification or Residency preferred.
• Special Training: Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the care needed for the specific patient population in area of assignment.

  • Required for consideration: BLS Provider from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross (only these two providers).
