Job summary

University Hospitals Pain Management seeks a Pharmacist Specialist, Analytics and Business Performance to lead KPI development, analytics, and financial forecasting for the department.

You will collaborate with pharmacy leadership, finance, supply chain, IT, and clinical teams to translate data into dashboards, business cases, and actionable recommendations that drive cost efficiency and patient care improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and report pharmacy key performance indicators, dashboards, and performance trends for main campus operations.
  • Collect, validate, analyze, and interpret clinical, operational, medication-use, inventory, workforce, and financial data (all encompassing).
  • Monitor pharmacy expenses, budget variances, drug-utilization trends, purchasing patterns, waste, inventory performance, and other financial gaps.
  • Conduct financial analyses, including budget-impact, return-on-investment, break-even, forecasting, and scenario analyses.
  • Serve as the pharmacy analytics and financial subject-matter expert for departmental projects, pilots, business plans, and strategic initiatives.
  • Establish baseline measures, targets, and post-implementation monitoring plans to evaluate project outcomes and realized financial benefits.
  • Collaborate with pharmacy leadership, finance, supply chain, information technology, clinical teams, and other stakeholders to validate findings and implement improvement opportunities.
  • Prepare and present executive-level reports, dashboards, business cases, variance analyses, and recommendations to pharmacy leadership and organizational committees.
  • Maintain standardized KPI definitions, data sources, calculation methodologies, reporting schedules, and documentation to support consistent and transparent reporting.
  • Manage a portfolio of analytics and cost-improvement initiatives, including project status, accountable owners, projected value, realized results, and sustainability.
  • Educate and support pharmacy leaders, pharmacists, residents, and staff in interpreting data, understanding financial performance, and applying analytics to operational decisions.
  • Ensure pharmacy data and reports meet organizational requirements for accuracy, confidentiality, security, and data governance.
  • Support annual planning, budgeting, benchmarking, regulatory reporting, and development of a comprehensive pharmacy value report.
